Safety and Instruction

The activities are organised by 'Absolute Adventure' who are licensed by the A.A.L.A, so you can be sure of the highest standards of safety and professionally qualified instruction. Anna and Steve, who facilitate the group, also have extensive experience of working with people with disabilities.

When do we meet

The group meets every 3 months for a weekend of outdoor activities, departing 6pm on a Friday evening and returning 4pm on Sunday.

Accommodation for the trips is usually in Alpine style lodges, with the group helping to prepare food, make packed lunches, etc. The social aspect of the trips is also important and we usually decide on a visit to the local pub or restaurant at some point during a weekend.

We also run annual European trips to major outdoor adventure areas, such as the French Alps, lasting about 10 days.

Costs

Weekend trips - departing Friday evening, returning Sunday evening - £85-95

European trips - approx. £500 for 10 days.

All trips include transport and equipment hire. The weekend and European trips also include food and accommodation.

High Hopes

This year we are again hoping to link up with ‘High Hopes’, a similar group to OAG, based in Kent.  It was the same group who back in 1996 joined us for the trip to Everest Base Camp.

They have several trips planned for the year, detailed below.  If you are interested in finding out more about any of these, please contact us.
